Mock Interview
Self-Feedback
What I thought went well was I effectively demonstrated my points of view, key strengths, attributes & weaknesses and I what I wanted to improve on within the interview effectively. I stated that I was open to looking into different career and study paths whether that's university or apprenticeships. You have already done research into universities and are attending the open day which shows that I am keeping my options open and still looking into what path is most suitable for me personally. I also mentioned that I was willing to work almost anywhere in the production field whether that be cinematography or editing which shows that I am open and eager to learn about all aspects of film.
I distinctively mentioned that my biggest strength was being able to be very analytical and capable of critiquing my own work and others. I'm a very detail orinintaterd person who makes sure that tasks/projects are done to the aboustlete highest of standards. However I identified this could be a possible weakness as i tend to see more of the negatives than the positives within others work and my own. I've been working on my mindset and improving my positive outlook on my project work, by setting small, yet achievable goals for me to reach and writing down a dairy of positive thinking in my paper journal to help better praise myself for good work etc. I also highlighted that time management was also an issue for me also work on in my own time. I am going to counteract this with setting up milestone pages on a word document, marking key sections to be done on a calendar both digitally on my phone and written down. I illustrated my interest in 'Channel-4' and discussed how they had a lot of opportunities for younger people and want more young people to get into the industry of media television.
What I could've done even better next time...
- Fix my posture (a little) I looked addressed & refreshed near the begging of the interview however as time went on my posture had slumped a little. So I will do next time fix this is to push my back further into the chair and keep re-adjusting my sitting position to keep my my back and chest perfectly straight in the interview. This help me look more professional, mature and alert to interviewers which grants a better impression left on the employer and their opinion of me.
- Change my tone of voice by raising a little slighter higher to make myself sound more serous, prepared and fleshed out in front of the employer.
This mock interview experience has opened my eyes to the envoirment of a real interview, and has helped me better plan out my employee-work ethic and professionalism within the field.
